Hi I’m Amanda Martinez , with four generations coming from Oakland CA, I currently work at a family owned daycare that my grandma has been running for 20+ years. My passion for cooking began at then young age of 9 . My grandfather was a chef of 40 + years working in restaurants , hospitals , and even catering events. Thanks to him he taught my grandma everything he knew and over the years passed it all down to me. From working in the food industry to taking on my own catering gigs. I knew then this is what I love to do. I learned about the KCL program through volunteering at my kids school and became very interested in helping. Not only was it teaching kids a recipe and letting them cook, I saw that this program instills healthy eating habits while making it fun. I look forward to doing what I have a passion for but also to serve our youth and the importance of eating healthy.
