Program Risks & Assumption of Risk
I understand that volunteering with Youth Cooking Services dba Kids Cooking For Life involves hands-on cooking activities, including the use of knives, hot induction cooktops, and other kitchen equipment, which carry inherent risks such as cuts, burns, or other injuries.
I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating and agree to follow all safety rules, instructions, and supervision protocols provided by staff. I assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages that may occur as a result of my participation.
Liability Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Youth Cooking Services dba Kids Cooking For Life , its board members, employees, instructors, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, or demands arising from my volunteer activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
I understand that my role as a volunteer is limited to supervised program activities only. I agree to the following boundaries:
I will not have contact with participating children outside of scheduled class time.
I will immediately report any safety concerns, inappropriate behavior, or boundary violations to program staff.
Code of Conduct
As a volunteer, I agree to:
Treat all participants with respect, patience, and professionalism
Use positive, inclusive language and trauma-informed approaches
Never use physical discipline, verbal abuse, or inappropriate language
Follow all safety, food handling, supervision guidelines and appropriate dress code
Understand that failure to follow these expectations may result in removal from the program
