Very Berry Smoothie
A smoothie is a great snack or supplement to a healthy breakfast or lunch. This is always a hit in our classes.
Ingredients
- 2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup frozen blueberries or raspberries
- 1 cup frozen blackberries
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 teaspoon honey, optional
Directions
- Measure all the ingredients into the jar of a blender.
- Put on the lid and turn the blender on,
- Gradually increase the speed, if that’s an option, or turn the blender to the “smoothie” setting..
- Add more juice or water if needed to blend everything to a creamy, smooth consistency.
- Taste and add a little honey if needed, then blend again.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
Substitution and variations
- Try adding a banana in place of one type of berry
- Add a handful of fresh spinach leaves to the mix
- Try adding an apple
- For a different take - use a banana, ¾ cup each of strawberries, mango (frozen is ok) and non-fat milk and 2 cups of spinach. It will be emerald green but taste like paradise.
